Former music director Osmo Vanska will return to help conduct the Minnesota Orchestra during its 2014 season.

The orchestra announced its new season Friday, 10 days after reaching a contract settlement that ended a 15-month lockout of union musicians.

Vanska had quit after the lingering labor dispute scuttled the orchestra's scheduled performances at Carnegie Hall in November.

The orchestra says Vanska will return to Orchestra Hall in March with an all-Sibelius program.

Vanska also conducts a one-night-only engagement in April that features Grammy-winning violinist Joshua Bell.

The classical season launches Feb. 20 with Minnesota Opera music director Michael Christie leading the orchestra in performances of Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, Ravel's Bolero and Rachmaninoff''s Second Piano Concerto.

The lockout cost the orchestra its entire season last year.
