The 9-year-old Minneapolis boy who eluded airport security and hopped a flight to Las Vegas will stay put at the youth facility where he has been for the past two months.

Senior Hennepin County Attorney Cory Carlson told Judge Joseph Klein Friday during a child protective services hearing, the boy still “has some struggles but is making some progress.”

Judge Klein ordered that all the conditions continue as they have since October, and he emphasized the importance of family therapy.

Both of the boy's parents were in court. The boy was not. The parents are allowed to visit and call their son.

Last month, the boy's parents agreed he should remain in protective custody to get the help he needs.

He snuck past security at the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport and boarded a plane.

He was caught mid-flight by a flight attendant who became suspicious.
