Fire Starts at Duplex in St. Paul, 1 Treated for Smoke Inhalation

Firefighters responded to fire at duplex in St. Paul Sunday morning.

It happened in the 600 block of West Charles Avenue around 9:30. The fire was confined to the southwest corner of the lower level.

Two residents were evaluated by medics, according to officials. One was treated for smoke inhalation.

No further details were immediately available.

This is one of two fires reported in St. Paul Sunday morning. The other fire turned deadly when a man sleeping in the basement was unable to escape. Eight others in the home made it out safely.
