Dental Records of UMinn Student Requested after Body Found
Twenty-year-old Anarae Schunk
The Rice County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a report of a body found in a ditch near Lonsdale on Monday.
The report came in around 4:30 p.m. Monday. The body was found in the 7000 block of 60th Street West in Wheatland Township, according to the sheriff's office.
The identity and gender of the victim were not immediately released by authorities, but police have asked for the family of a missing University of Minnesota student for dental records after the body was discovered, according to the Star Tribune.
Twenty-year-old Anarae Schunk disappeared more than a week ago when she apparently left a Burnsville bar with her former boyfriend, who is being held for fatally shooting a man outside the establishment that night.
The current girlfriend of Schunk's ex-boyfriend, Anthony Lee Nelson, told authorities that Schunk accompanied them back to her townhouse in Rosemount after they left the Burnsville bar, the Star Tribune reports.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the investigation. No further details were immediately available.
