A temporary Access Road aimed at mitigating access issues for business owners in Arden Hills will not be built even though construction plans call for it.

We told you Tuesday about the Ramsey County Road 96 & Highway 10 construction project that has closed roads in the area, and is negatively impacting Welsch's Big Ten Tavern.

The owner says business is down 60 percent since construction started in March.

A temporary access road was supposed to alleviate some of the access issues. However, MnDOT says a wet spring delayed the relocation of utilities and knocked the plan off course.

Now, with just two months or so, MnDOT says building a temporary road is not cost-effective.

Drivers still have access to Welsch's from the north.
