An 18-year-old Northfield man is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl at her house after becoming her friend on Facebook.
Michael Lyle Stucky, Jr. was charged in Dakota County District Court with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
After meeting the girl on Facebook, Stucky went to the girl's house around 4 a.m. Aug. 6 in Rosemount, according to a criminal complaint. The girl told police that Stucky began kissing her while she attempted to resist him, saying stop and pushing him away.
The girl said Stucky became more aggressive, started taking her clothes off and then raped her, the complaint said. She said she tried to push Stucky off with her foot.
Stucky told police that the sex was consensual, the complaint said. He said he had no idea how old the girl was. The criminal complaint can be found here.
Stucky is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 10. He remained in jail Tuesday, Aug. 27. His bail has been set at $75,000, or $30,000 with conditions.
"Social media and networking sites are an important part of our daily lives," said Rosemount Police Chief Eric Werner in a statement. "It's unspeakable to know the technology is being used to prey on children or commit other crimes. Internet crimes are more complex and private, making the community's help even more important."
Werner asks that victims, and people who know of victims, contact police immediately to report sexual crimes. Police believe that Stucky might have victimized more people, according to the Dakota County Attorney's Office.
