Fusing Fashion Design with Technology Through Summer Camp
Fusing fashion design with technology.
That's the goal of a first of its kind camp for girls at the University of Minnesota St. Paul this week.
16 girls between the ages of 11 and 14 are learning about clothing design.
But this camp is teaching more than threading a needle. The girls are designing a space suit for their pretend planet.
The U says the program is hands-on, collaborative and relevant, combinations that have shown to motivate girls to pursue science and math related activities.
The campers work via teleconference with Cornell University, which has a similar camp there.
