U of M Students Leave Egypt Amid Unrest
The University of Minnesota says four graduate students were in Egypt for a group internship project aimed at helping Egyptian students.
The students' professor, Ragui Assaad, says the four were safe but felt the mass demonstration would not allow them to complete the interviews and focus groups they needed to finish their project.
The students decided it was best to fly home.
The students are several of approximately 3,000 Minnesotans of Egyptian heritage.
This is the third year U of M students have worked on projects in Egypt.
