Slow No-Wake Speed Limit in Effect on St. Croix River

A slow no-wake speed limit is now in effect on the St. Croix River from Taylors Falls to Prescott.

We've had anywhere from four to nine inches of rain in parts of the metro over the past several weeks.

According to the Department of Natural Resources the no wake rule is in effect due to high water.

The slow no-wake speed limit is expected to be in effect through the Fourth of July holiday.

This affects boaters who won't be able to haul tubers or skiers.

The DNR will be enforcing the rule. Violators can get a costly ticket of $140.
