Suspect Arrested in Deadly Hinckley Hit-and-Run
A suspect has been arrested after a deadly hit-and-run in Hinckley.
Twenty-four-year-old Trevor Langlois of Wyoming, Minn., died after he was hit by a truck June 17. The Minnesota State Patrol reported his death Sunday.
Thirty-one-year-old Derek Sanders of Wyoming was taken into custody Wednesday morning.
Brian Langlois says his son developed truck problems and pulled off to the side of the road on a freeway entrance ramp in Hinckley. He says Trevor put on his flashers and got out.
Authorities say a vehicle hit the victim and stopped briefly before leaving the scene. Trevor Langlois was airlifted to a Duluth hospital.
His wife, Katie Langlois, says Trevor was a loving husband and father and a U.S. Army veteran.
Sanders is being held at the Pine County Sheriff's Office on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide and hit-and-run.
A tip from the public led police to Sanders' vehicle, which is currently impounded as evidence.
