After heavy rains across southern Minnesota Tuesday morning, more storms are possible across the state. Meteorologist Patrick Hammer said around 1 to 3 inches fell around the Rochester area.

As for your Tuesday, more storms are expected to develop.

“If we can manage some clearing, the potential for stronger storms increases late afternoon into the evening,” said Patrick.

If temperatures hit the 90s, it will create the ripe conditions for strong storms to develop.

He said there will be a threat of severe weather for the southern 2/3rds of the state, mainly overnight. Large hail and heavy rain is possible.

More storms are expected for Wednesday before the weather quiets down for the rest of the week.
