Uptown Businesses Restock Food After Power Outage

Many Uptown restaurants who lost power this weekend are now restocking their food, as business gets back to normal.

The Lowry lost power on Friday night through Sunday morning, and although they were able to salvage some of their food - much of it had to get tossed since it was sitting out for more than four hours.

On Monday, vendors started bringing in more dairy, fish and raw meats. And the chef is trying to catch up on cutting all of the produce that was already prepped, but had to get chucked.

The Lowry lost an estimated 1,000 customers this weekend, and it could have been big business for them since most Uptown residents were without power and were going out for meals all weekend long.

The Lowry stored their food in a rented freezer truck, and now that they have power, they're hauling it all back in.

Kowalski's grocery store in Uptown lost all of its freezer section, deli meats and cheeses.

Now, they're rushing to fill their empty store shelves because soon all those uptown residents who have been without power will need to go grocery shopping and refill their fridge.
