Stillwater Lift Bridge Reopens Earlier than Expected
The Stillwater Lift Bridge reopened to both road and water traffic at 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to MnDOT.
The bridge was closed to traffic while crews worked to repair a broken cable. The bridge was closed from noon to 4 p.m.
MnDOT says the lift bridge is now able to resume its normal lift schedule, which is earlier than expected.
Crews initially expected to have the lift bridge fully operational and open to water traffic by the end of week.
On Sunday night, a cable snapped when the bridge was being lowered.
