Target Field Hoses Down Snow, Anticipating Opening Day

Winter officially ended Wednesday morning, even though it doesn't look like it outside.

That has a lot of Twins fans worried about sitting at Target Field for opening day without a roof over their heads.

Even with wind, snow and hail the boys of summer will play if it feels like winter.

But Twins maintenance crews are doing their part to get the field ready in time for opening day in 12 days.

Crews are melting the snow the old fashioned way, by hosing down the snow and ice with hot water in the shady areas that aren't getting enough sun. They've been using this steaming technique for the past week.

This year is the first time since Target Field was built that the Twins play at home on opening day.
