Student Hit by School Bus in Plymouth Recovering from Surgery
Two Wayzata High School students are recovering after they were hit by a school bus outside an elementary school in Plymouth Monday.
Ninth grader, Alec O'Connell, is resting at North Memorial Hospital after having surgery for a broken leg. He is in fair condition.
A second boy, who suffered minor injuries, is already back at school.
The boys were hit as they were jogging with their track team around 3:30 p.m. outside Plymouth Creek Elementary. School officials say they were hit while in a crosswalk.
Plymouth Police Sgt. Joe Gebhardt said the bus was carrying middle-school students and that no one on the bus was hurt.
Police are investigating.
