Still No Sign of Kira Trevino After Weekend Search

Volunteers searched another park Sunday in the Twin Cities looking for any sign of Kira Trevino, a St. Paul woman who has been missing since last month.

The group searched Keller Regional Park in Maplewood. A man who said he's Trevino's grandfather helped with the search.

But the search didn't reveal any new findings in the Trevino case.

Trevino's husband, Jeffery Trevino, 39, is in jail on two second-degree murder charges.

Kira Trevino, 30, has been missing since Feb. 24. Her body has not been found.

On Saturday, volunteers searched Fort Snelling State Park in St. Paul. Meanwhile, police acted on a tip Saturday and searched a body of water in St. Paul.

St. Paul police confirmed that they searched an area near Roselawn Avenue East and Arcade Street. Police said even though her husband is in jail, the Trevino case is still active.

"We're still looking for tips, quite frankly," said Howie Padilla, spokesman for the St. Paul Police Department "It's an active investigation and an active search until we find Kira."

Police have received about 100 tips in the Trevino case. Some have led nowhere, but others have sparked searches, like the one conducted on Saturday.

Another group on Sunday also searched Crosby Farm Park in St. Paul.

St. Paul police reported Sunday afternoon that there were no new updates in the case.
