2 Men ID'd in 'After Hours' Club Double Homicide in Mpls.
Names of the two men who were killed last Friday morning at an ‘after hours establishment’ have been identified.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner released that 32-year-old Demetrius Lee Harper of Minneapolis and 23-year-old Erick Allan Felton of Harrisburg, Pa. both died as a result of multiple gun shot wounds.
Police said one man was found dead inside the building and the other was outside. Another man was injured, according to the Associated Press.
Police were called to Fremont Avenue North and North 39th Avenue around 3 a.m. March 7 on a report of shots fired.
Police Sgt. Stephen McCarty said on Friday that the building where the shooting took place was converted to an ‘after hours establishment’ where there were between 50-100 people at the party.
The club has been operating illegally, and they’ve had 14 calls to the address in the last six weeks, mostly for disturbances and loud music, police said.
The city says it’s in the process of trying to declare the building a “public nuisance.”
The deaths are ruled a homicide. Minneapolis police are still investigating the incident.
