Man Accused of Taking Pictures of Boys at YMCA Arrested Again
A Coon Rapids man accused of taking videos and pictures of young boys at the Andover YMCA has been arrested again.
Fifty-three-year-old Dennis Minor was arrested by the University of Minnesota Police Thursday afternoon, according to the university. Records show that he was arrested for interfering with privacy and harassment or stalking.
Records also show Minor is being held in the Hennepin County Jail without bail. The university news service says charges are expected to be filed Friday.
Minor was originally arrested after a search warrant was executed Saturday, March 2.
The investigation began Sunday, Feb. 24, when a 12-year-old boy told his parents that a man held a watch over a partition while he was getting dressed at the YMCA. The incident was reported to staff members and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, and Minor was identified using video surveillance.
Police say Minor lives with his parents, and they executed a search warrant at their home. They say they found the wrist watch, which can take both digital videos and still photos.
Police also say they executed a second search warrant for his computer data and found pictures of young boys at the Andover and Coon Rapids YMCA. They also say there was other child pornography found on his computer.
According to the university news service, Minor's alleged offenses that led to the re-arrest are believed to have happened a while ago, not in the time after when he posted bail in Anoka County.
