Mpls. Police Investigate Double Homicide at 'After Hours' Club
No arrests have been made after two men were shot and killed and another was injured at a party in North Minneapolis Friday morning.
Police were called to an 'after hours establishment' at Fremont Avenue North and North 39th Avenue around 3 a.m. on a report of shots fired.
Police Sgt. Stephen McCarty said one victim was found inside the building and the other was found outside. Both were dead when they arrived at the hospital.
A third person walked into Hennepin County Medical Center 20 minutes later with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
Sgt. McCarty said the building where the shooting took place was converted into an 'after hours establishment' where there were between 50 to 100 people at the party.
The victims' identities and their exact causes of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office after their investigation.
Police say the club has been operating illegally and they have had 14 calls to the address in the last six weeks, mostly for disturbances and loud music.
The city says it's in the process of trying to declare the building a "public nuisance."
Anyone with information about the shooting should call police.
