Beer makers Push to Help Micro Brewery Business

Micro-breweries are booming right now in Minnesota. But there's a state law that keeps their production at 3,500 barrels a year.

If they go over that limit their penalty is they can't sell their growlers, they're popular beer containers, for a year.

The brewers say that hurts their bottom line.

Dan Schwarz of Lift Bridge Brewery said, "It is a great source of revenue for us and it really does help us grow and it helps us to buy more equipment and invest in more people."

The Minnesota Beermakers Association is trying to change the law this year to remove the cap on barrel production.
