Using Your Credit Card Could Cost You

Get ready to pay more for using your credit card.

Sunday was the first day surcharges can be added to your bill for using credit cards. The charges are part of a settlement reached with credit card companies from last year.

You can expect to be hit with anywhere from 1.5 percent to 4 percent of your purchase price.

By law, businesses will have to post notices at check-out about the extra charge.

Debit card users and American Express customers are not included in the changes.
