Mpls. Police and Children Shop for Christmas Gifts

Target and Minneapolis police team up to make dreams come true.

The Heroes and Helpers program paired police officers and Target employees with thirty children who otherwise could not afford to go Christmas shopping.

Target has set aside $200,000 to perform events like this in 200 communities nationwide.

The idea is to expose at-risk youth to police in a positive environment with the hope of building relationships that last lifetimes.

After the children shop and check out, Target employees wrap the gifts. Afterward, it's up to the children to sneak the gifts home so their families are surprised on Christmas!
