Police Find Suspect in Northfield Hotel Robbery

Authorities have identified a suspect who allegedly robbed an America’s Best Value Inn and Suites early Monday morning and shot at a Rice County deputy.

According to authorities, Eric Forcier was found hiding in a vehicle, and was arrested.

The robbery happened around 2:45 a.m. Monday in Northfield.

Authorities say Forcier and a woman robbed the hotel on Highway 3 South and were stopped by a deputy along Armstrong Road.

The woman was arrested, but Forcier left the scene, firing a gun at the deputy. No one was injured.

Multiple agencies searched for Forcier, including the Rice County Sheriff’s Office, Rice County SWAT, the Minnesota State Patrol, four Eagan K-9 units, and several other south metro police departments.

He was located around 10:45 a.m.

At this point, additional details have not been released.
