Authorities: Man Fatally Shot by Police Rammed Squads
New details are being revealed after a man was fatally shot by St. Paul Police officers.
The officer-involved shooting occurred in the 300 block of Jessamine Avenue in St. Paul around 4p.m. Tuesday
According to authorities, St. Paul Police officers were assisting undercover narcotics investigators of the Minneapolis Police Department when they saw a suspect trying to leave in a SUV.
Three men were inside the SUV at the time. St. Paul officers blocked the suspect's vehicle, and the driver began to ram the unmarked squad cars. When the suspect was ordered to stop, he continued to ram the squads.
The St. Paul Police Department says the officers felt their lives were in jeopardy and fired their weapons. The suspect, later identified as 41-year-old Victor Gaddy, was hit by bullets several times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the car, 20-year-old Terrance Wilson was questioned and booked for possession of controlled substance.
A third person in the car was questioned and released.
The four St. Paul officers involved in this incident are veterans of the department.
The officers are on three-day administrative leave.
