Orono Police May Increase Security After Acts of Vandalism

After vandalism right outside the Orono Police station, the department is considering increasing it's own security.

We've reported on the incidents, some police vehicles were set on fire, others sprayed painted with obscenities  and smashed out windows.

Orono Police Chief Correy Farniok wants to add fencing, lighting, and security cameras at the station.

The total cost for the security improvements is about $50,000.

The Orono City Council still has to vote on the upgrades.
