Vehicle Hits, Kills 18-Year-Old Big Lake Man

A vehicle hit and killed an 18-year-old pedestrian in Big Lake Township.

According to the Sherburne County Sheriff, the crash happened overnight on County Road 81 just north of Highway 10.

The pedestrian, later identified as Efren Martinez of Big Lake, died at the scene.

The vehicle was driven by 45-year-old Michael Jorgenson of Big Lake.

Both Sherburne County and the state patrol responded.

Authorities say there is no suspicion of alcohol or drug use by Jorgenson.

At this point the crash is being investigated and additional details have not been released.
