22-Year-Old Stillwater Man Charged in Deadly Bar Fight

A 22-year-old man has been charged in connection with a deadly fight that took place at a Stillwater bar last week.

According to the Washington County Attorney's Office, Eric Kaprice Richard of Stillwater was charged with second degree unintentional murder in the death of 29-year-old Adam McCloud.

Stillwater police say McCloud got into a disagreement with Richard at Smalley's Caribbean Barbeque and Pirate Bar and was punched several times.

He hit his head on the ground and was knocked out. Family members say he suffered severe head and brain trauma. McCloud died from his injuries Thursday.

Police say three assaults happened at Smalley's in the last two weeks.

Police tell KSTP they are talking with management at Smalley's about their business practices to find out if their business practices contributed to the recent rash of assaults.

In one of the other cases, police say a group of women attacked another woman leaving Smalley's and she suffered significant, but not life threatening injuries.

KSTP asked management at Smalley's to comment, but they declined.

At Richard's first court appearance Friday, his bail was set at $200,000.
