Charges Expected in Fatal Stillwater Bar Fight

A 29-year-old man who was assaulted at a Stillwater bar last week has died.

Stillwater police say Adam McCloud got into a disagreement with another patron at Smalley's Caribbean Barbeque and Pirate Bar and was punched several times. He hit his head on the ground and was knocked out. Family members say he suffered severe head and brain trauma.

Police say three assaults happened at Smalley's in the last two weeks.

Police tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS they are talking with management at Smalley's about their business practices to find out if their business practices contributed to the recent rash of assaults.

In one of the other cases, police say a group of women attacked another woman leaving Smalley's and she suffered significant, but not life threatening injuries.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in the McCloud's case and charges could come as soon as Friday.

We asked management at Smalley's to comment, but they declined.
