Police: Man Stabs Rochester Girl with Scissors

Rochester police say a 12-year-old girl was stabbed with a pair of scissors by her mother's boyfriend.

Investigators say 31-year-old Dillon Caudill admitted to smoking meth before going to his girlfriend's apartment early Tuesday.

He tried to sexually assault the girl, according to authorities. When she screamed, her mother came into the room and there was a struggle. In the process, the girl was stabbed.

Caudill was arrested Tuesday afternoon, about 12 hours later. Charges against him could be filed as soon as Thursday.

The girl is hospitalized and listed in stable condition. Her mother suffered minor injuries while struggling with Caudill.

Caudill remains in the Olmsted County Jail.
