Burnsville Mom Accused of Drunk Driving Crash with Kids in Car

null

A Burnsville woman is accused of crashing her car while driving drunk with five kids in her car. Thirty-year-old Amy Mullin is now charged with child endangerment, criminal vehicular operation and two counts of drunken driving, all gross misdemeanors.

Police were called to the accident near Evergreen Dr and Aston Circle in Burnsville just after 10:30 a.m. last Thursday. According to the criminal complaint, the other driver says Mullin turned right in front of him causing the crash. When officers talked to Mullin they say they noticed the smell of alcohol on her breath. Police say she registered a .15 on the blood alcohol test.

Mullin originally told police she had four children, ages 2, 4, 5 and 9 months in the car with her, until another adult brought a 7-year-old over to officers. According to the complaint, Mullin then admitted she lied because the children were not properly restrained. Police say she told them the 5-year-old and 7-year-old had been buckled together in the front seat.

No one was seriously hurt in the accident.
