Accent Signage Founder Remembered as Faith and Family Man

Those who knew Reuven Rahamim say you didn't have to know him well, to know he was a fine person. Friends and members of Beth El Synagogue, where the 61-year-old was a member for many years, say he was a model in all aspects of his life.

"Modest, hardworking, generous, kind, family loving, just a fantastic person," said Gil Mann, friend of Rahamim and Immediate Past President of Beth El.

Rahamim was known in the larger Twin Cities community for his successful business, Accent Signage Systems. After immigrating from Israel in the 1970s, Rahamim founded Accent Signage Systems in the '80s from his basement.

"He was the American dream, he's a human dream," Mann said.

Rahamim's son-in-law Chad Blumenfield said his large family was a huge part of his life. He is survived by a wife, three children and two grandchildren.

"It was impossible for him not to talk about his children, his grandchildren, his wife, his extended family," Mann said.

"His family was everything to him, his beloved wife, his children, and grandchildren. His extended family," said Rabbi Alexander Davis of Beth El Synagogue.

Rahamim also donated dozens of signs both to Beth El and to the Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School.

"He would give of himself, selflessly, at any cost, for any need, and he will always be with us," Davis said.

"His signs, his personality, the family he leaves behind, people who worked with him, (are) all influenced for the good," Mann said.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.

"We are impoverished by having him gone," Mann said.
