Minneapolis High School Dedicates $1.2 Million Field
A Minneapolis high school rolled out the carpet on their new football field.
Before Friday Night's homecoming football game, Washburn High School dedicated their new state of the art synthetic turf field. The field is also used by soccer and lacrosse teams.
This was a $1.2 million project, $200,000 was donated by the Minnesota Vikings, $220,000 came from a Hennepin County grant. The rest was raised by the school, parents, students and the district.
The district says the turf will reduce maintenance costs because there's no mowing, fertilizing, or watering.
