Vikings, Stadium Authority Put Off Stadium Architect Decision
The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and the Minnesota Vikings continue to debate which of five architects will get the new stadium design contract.
The original timeline called for possibly paring the list down to a couple of finalists by today with a final decision made by Friday.
The stadium authority released a statement that says, in part, "it is important that the right architectural team is selected ensure Minnesota's world-class multi-purpose stadium is built on time, on budget and meets the numerous needs of the Vikings and the community."
The statement says the authority and the Vikings continue their "due diligence" with the five firms bidding on the contract.
They will have an update on the timeline at the authority meeting on Friday.
