Driver Critically Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Identified

The State Patrol says a multiple-vehicle crash on I-35W Northbound at Cliff Road left 49-year-old Beverley Johnson of Burnsville in critical condition Wednesday.

The crash happened at 11:15 a.m.

According to the State Patrol, a lane was closed on I-35W for road maintenance.

Vehicles were slowing down, and a semi crashed into a car, causing a pile-up with two other cars.

Three other victims suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Authorities say 47-year-old Leon Fortson of Medford was driving the semi truck. He was not injured in the crash.

The road was closed following the crash, causing back-ups into the afternoon.
