Fridley Trucker Hit, Killed While Looking at Flat Tire

A 51-year-old semi driver from Fridley was hit by a car and killed on the side of Interstate 35W in Richfield Friday.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. on the southbound side of the interstate at 66th Street.

The State Patrol says Hamed Nahi Alsaady was on the right shoulder looking at a blown tire on his trailer when a car drifted to the right, hitting him and the semi.

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries, the State Patrol says.

Two lanes were closed after the crash, causing heavy back-ups in the area.
