EmailHouse Speaker Calls on Rep. Gauthier to Resign
Minnesota House Speaker Kurt Zellers is calling for DFLer Kerry Gauthier to resign.
The state representative admitted to police that he had sexual contact with a teen at a rest area on I-35 last month.
Prosecutors decided not to pursue charges against him. Both Gauthier and the teen told a Duluth police investigator there was a consensual sex act.
The St. Louis County Attorney says the teen is over the age of consent, which is 16.
Gauthier is up for re-election in November. Our Calls to him for comment were not returned.
