Medical Examiner IDs Man Killed in MOA Ramp Crash

The medical examiner has identified the man killed in Friday's Mall of America parking ramp accident as 52 year-old Raheem Waheed.

Police say Waheed was driving a U-Haul truck into the ramp and may have misjudged the height of the truck. He crashed into an overhead beam in the west parking ramp Friday night, causing the beam to crash down on the truck's cab.

Waheed died on the scene. A 45-year-old woman and her 12-year-old daughter were also in the truck at the time of the crash. They were able to get out and were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Crews closed the ramp while they assessed its structural integrity. A small portion of the ramp remains closed Monday, affecting about 50 parking spots.
