Robbinsdale Man Sentenced to 11 Years for Burglary, Sexual Assault

Two women fought off attacks from 23-year-old Anthony Legrette Farrar.  On Friday, Farrar began serving more than 11 years in prison.

The first attack happened March 22nd.  The Hennepin County Attorney's Office said Farrar followed a woman off a bus in Minneapolis, forced her between two buildings, and began forcibly fondling her.

"She fought with him and screamed and he ran when someone looked out the window from one of the homes," said a Hennepin County Attorney's Office spokesperson.

One day later, he was at it again.

A woman found a man walking through the unlocked door of her Minneapolis apartment.  He said he was looking for someone named Ian.  She said he had the wrong apartment.

"Instead, he put his hand over her mouth and began dragging her into the apartment away from the door," said the spokesperson.  "She struggled and managed to bang his head against the wall and get away."

Farrar pled guilty to second degree criminal sexual conduct and burglary.

The prosecutor asked the judge to sentence Farrar to 15 years in prison.  Farrar's attorney asked for a sentence of just over 10 years. 

In the end, the judge sentenced Farrar to 135 months, or 11 years and three months.

This isn't Farrar's first run-in with the law.  The spokesperson said that at the time of the Hennepin County crimes, Farrar was on supervised release for a December, 2011 fourth degree criminal sexual conduct conviction in Ramsey County.
