Inaugural Heroes Parade Honors Post-9/11 Veterans, Families

It wasn't Memorial Day or Veterans Day, but people lined the streets of downtown Minneapolis Saturday for a military parade.
The event was the inaugural Heroes Parade, meant to not only honor post-9/11 veterans and their families, but also connect them with resources and benefits.
"Not only to have a wonderful parade, but at the same time be able to provide information to those veterans and their families," said organzier Jeremy Wolfsteller.
The parade was part of the larger Heroes Weekend, as officially declared by Governor Dayton.
Even if you missed the parade and the resource center, you can still benefit from the Heroes Weekend with some big discounts and deals at local businesses.
