EmailLongtime Linden Hills Hardware Store Closes
A hardware store that's been owned by the same family and operated in the same location in Linden Hills since 1923 has closed.
Bayers Do It Best owner Bob Bayers says the decision wasn't easy, "I've decided to retire, liquidate my store and move on. I've spent 45 years here, grew up on the hardware business, the store has been in my family for 89 years."
Bayers says his smaller store could not compete with newer larger Ace Hardware store opened just around the corner, "My store is less than 4000 feet and can't hold the merchandise that they can put in that twice as large space."
