St. Paul police say they have arrested a man in connection to a fatal stabbing following an altercation on a Metro Transit bus early Wednesday.
Police say 38-year-old Tim Dortch of St. Paul has been booked into Ramsey County Jail on suspicion of murder in the death of 25-year-old Desmond Harper of St. Paul.
Dortch has not been charged.
Authorities believe a fight between the two escalated as they left the bus at the intersection of North Rice Street and Aurora Avenue West.
Officers were called to the scene about 1 a.m. and found Harper unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are not sure what started the fight. Homicide investigators are working with Metro Transit police.
