Heat Wave Prompts Crackdown on Minn. Lawn Watering

This week's heat wave is prompting communities across the metro to crack down on lawn-watering policies.
In the last week, the City of Woodbury has issued nearly 100 tickets to homeowners who broke the rules. Woodbury doesn't allow lawn watering from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., but kids can play in a sprinkler all day long.
On July 3, the city used 18 million gallons of water. On typical day in December they use 4 million gallons.
