A Florida man says a necklace from his daughter saved him from a bullet.
Richard Smeraldo was out watching fireworks Wednesday night when a stray bullet hit him, going through part of his nose, lip, and chin and down to his chest. It was stopped by a silver dog tag.
Smeraldo found the 9-mm bullet on the blanket next to him. He says it’s a miracle he’s not seriously hurt or dead.
Smeraldo thanks his late mother, too – he had the dog tag engraved with her favorite Bible verse right before the incident.
