Rash of Southeast Minneapolis Burglaries Concern Residents

Some southeast Minneapolis residents are concerned about a rash of recent burglaries.
Police crime maps indicate a jump of break-ins in neighborhoods like Longfellow and Hiawatha--in fact since June 19th more than two dozen homes and garages have been burglarized, within blocks of one another.
Bicycles, jewelry, electronics and even medicine have been stolen.
At this point, there is no indication that any of the recently-reported burglaries are connected, or can be linked to the same burglars. The burglaries occurred at all hours of the day and the burglars used a variety of different methods to get in. They broke windows, cut through screens, pried apart realtor boxes to get keys, and in some cases simply walked through unlocked doors.
