Body of Missing Man Recovered on Lake Minnetonka

Crews have recovered the body of a missing 20-year-old Minnetonka man who drowned on Lake Minnetonka.

The man, identified as Kennedy Maddox, had been missing since 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says crews using sonar located his body in 67 feet of water about one mile from Big Island. Divers recovered his body around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Maddox had jumped off a boat near Big Island to go swimming, the sheriff's office says. Maddox wasn't wearing a life jacket, and he never resurfaced.

Four other young adults on the 20-foot boat searched the water, but were unable to find him.

According to Minnetonka High School, he had just graduated.
