North St. Paul Motorcyclist Dies Day After Roseville Crash

nullAuthorities say the North St. Paul motorcyclist who struck a truck in Roseville Thursday has died.

Fifty-three-year-old Jerry LaPlante had been in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center following the crash, which happened Thursday evening at the intersection of County Road C and Prior Avenue.

LaPlante died around 8 p.m. Friday, according to Roseville police.

Witnesses tell police LaPlante was traveling eastbound on County Road C when he allegedly went through a red light and struck the side of a Renewal by Andersen box truck as it was turning from County Road C into a parking lot.

The driver of the box truck, a 39-year-old Eden Prairie man, was not injured and is cooperating with police.

A preliminary investigation indicates LaPlante was not wearing a helmet, police say.

The accident, which closed a section of County Road C for about two hours Thursday evening, remains under investigation.
