Store Owner in Welfare Waste Investigation Sentenced
A grocery store owner profiled in the on-going 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Welfare Waste investigation and accused by prosecutors of more than $3 million dollars in food stamp fraud is going to prison.
Khaffak Ansari wouldn't comment in November 2010 when KSTP first asked him about the allegations, and asked a reporter and photographer to leave his store.
He was indicted six months later and pleaded guilty last Fall.
On Tuesday, a federal judge sentenced Ansari to three and a half years in prison.
