Store Owner in Welfare Waste Investigation Sentenced

A grocery store owner profiled in the on-going 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Welfare Waste investigation and accused by prosecutors of more than $3 million dollars in food stamp fraud is going to prison.

Khaffak Ansari wouldn't comment in November 2010 when KSTP first asked him about the allegations, and asked a reporter and photographer to leave his store.

He was indicted six months later and pleaded guilty last Fall.

On Tuesday, a federal judge sentenced Ansari to three and a half years in prison.
