State Funding Proposal Missing From Vikings Stadium Report

The Met Council's "Stadium Proposal Risk Analysis" raises several potential obstacles to construction of a Vikings football stadium in Arden Hills.

The obstacles include a longer timeframe to clean up the site, uncertainty about who would cover potential cost overruns, and a $39 million funding gap.

However, the report only devotes two paragraphs to perhaps the biggest obstacle, a proposal for the state to provide $300 million for the project. With the Vikings hoping for a special session of the legislature in November, they still lack an acceptable plan for the state's share of the stadium tab.
