Photos show Favre's bad bruises
Vikings fans knew Brett Favre was hurt when he limped off the field during the NFC Championship game, but just-released photographs show how badly he was banged up.
Favre's agent Bus Cook sent some pictures of Favre's bruised and battered body to a newspaper in Mississippi.
They show his left ankle swollen and purple and a huge, dark-colored bruise on his right hamstring.
Favre's ankle was injured in an illegal hit that should have resulted in a penalty against the New Orleans Saints. The player responsible was later fined $20,000.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Sports Director Joe Schmit said the pictures make you wonder how healthy Favre would have been for the Super Bowl if the Vikings had won. The injuries might also explain why Favre didn't run the ball late in the NFC game.
